It’s here! The Guardian Protection Services website we’ve been working on for the past few months is now shiny and live. An expansive task, this site utilized nearly all the skills we offer — from information architecture, design and programming on down to copywriting, animation and necromancy. In fact, we’re so proud of this particular project, we thought a little look under the hood was in order.
Before & After
From the start, the biggest challenge with the Guardian website was creating a user experience that would make sense to three different audiences — Existing Homes, New Construction and Business Security. To bridge the gap, we went with an interactive slider that highlighted fetching product features.

AnimationsThis is where we got to have a little fun. To help differentiate Guardian in the Existing Homes market and quickly touch on some common trigger events, we created an animated video. The goal was to keep it light, visually interesting and easy to update as security technology advances. |

Interactive FeaturesAnother major goal of this redesign was to simplify and commercialize the Guardian website and make the overall experience more closely resemble the one consumers have come to expect from online shopping. |

More BellsTo help Guardian’s New Construction customers visualize all the state-of-the-art features they could own for just a little bump to the monthly mortgage installments, we built a handy-dandy Payment Calculator. |

More WhistlesFinally, one of the biggest reasons businesses choose to work with Guardian is their proprietary online management tool, Genie. With such a visionary benefit, we decided to show Genie off with an easy-on-the-eyes product demo. |

It’s All Been Worth It
As with any large project, there was suffering. Chinchillas and Pomeranians were neglected. Significant others endured the growth of large beards and the near-constant mustache stroking that accompanies them. Tim turned into a folk singer. Travis became addicted to energy drinks.
But oh, that finished product. She’s a beauty.
